Item's explanatory note:Vysvětlivka k položce:
Statistical indicator defines the content of a statistically observed phenomenon. In the Metainformation database, information on indicators is divided into two parts – “details” and “attributes”. There are several details belonging to indicators, such as “full name of indicator,” “code,” “topic,” “validity,” “definition,” and “synonyms,” which are used in questionnaires and output tables. Attributes include “time characteristic,” “data type,” and “group”. The time characteristic indicates whether the indicator relates to a time period (flows) or to a given day (stocks). The data type indicates whether the indicator detects data consisting of dates (date), numbers (numeric), or text (character). The group represents the topic and area to which the indicator belongs. For each indicator, a list of related indicators is displayed.
There are three possible ways of how to search for an indicator: by alphabet, by string (full-text search), or by topic. An example: The “ Expenditure on health” indicator can be either found under the letter “E” or using the full-text search typing “health” and/or under the topic 1 “Demographic and social statistics” and sub-topic 104 Health.
